OUR STORY / ABOUT
In the year 2000, James launched a radio venture in Timaru – The Heat FM. He successfully brought Top 40 hits, rock, and pop songs to the ears of the community, delivering local information and quality entertainment with a true local connection. It quickly became one of the region’s leading radio stations of its era.
In 2001, The Heat FM merged with the Port FM Music Network, where James took on multiple roles – production engineer, afternoon radio host, and all-round fix-it guy – for the next 17 years.
Today, James is once again at the forefront of bringing real local radio back to South Canterbury.
100.3 FM is here to give the community a voice – telling our stories, tackling the issues that matter, and playing the music anthems of the ‘80s, ‘90s, 2000s, and today.
