OUR STORY / ABOUT
In the year 2000, James created a radio business venture in Timaru; ‘The Heat FM’ he successfully brought top 40 hits, rock and pop songs to the eardrums of Timaru. By establishing a radio station, it provided local information & quality entertainment with a true local connection - to become one of the regions leading radio stations of its era.
The Heat FM then merged in 2001 with The Port FM Music Network operation where James had the role of production engineer, afternoon radio host and general fix it guy, for 17 years.
Today, again with James we are bringing back real local radio to South Canterbury. 100.3 FM wants to give a voice to its community again, telling our stories, tackling the issues that affect us and playing the music anthems of the 80’s, 90's, 2000's and now.
100.3 FM is radio by, for and about the people of South Canterbury! We are an independent radio station located in Central Timaru, in the heart of the South Canterbury region of New Zealand’s South Island.
